Innerspace
2024 – present
“The Innerspace series pays tribute to women artists from diverse disciplines, capturing the essence of their inner worlds and creative processes. Through personal encounters and inspiration drawn from their work, the author transforms these impressions into photographs that reflect the unique character of each artist’s vision.”
The Innerspace series is dedicated to women artists, each representing a different artistic discipline. The author draws inspiration from the work of these women and seeks to delve into their inner world and creative process through interviews and personal meetings. She finds inspiration in their work and depicts the distinctive features of their art in her photographs. Each photograph is set within a handcrafted photographic scene, created by the author herself. The set design and scene construction are thoughtfully conceived so that every image offers a captivating and evocative glimpse into the artist’s inner world.
Thus, this series becomes a kind of mirror reflecting the diversity of women’s creativity while simultaneously intertwining with the author’s own vision.

Step inside Innerspace — a world where hidden thoughts and forgotten objects transform into powerful visual stories.
Innerspace explores the hidden universes of the human mind through powerful, large-scale photographs. Built from recycled materials and transformed into surreal scenes, each image captures the essence of female creativity and imagination.
Every artwork from the Innerspace series is available only as a strictly limited edition print, created on museum-quality archival paper, signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. More than photographs, these pieces are immersive worlds—born from intimate conversations with women artists, translated through sketches, handcrafted scenography, and months of experimental work inside a custom-built cube. Each detail, from recycled materials to the play of light, carries the story of transformation: turning discarded objects into visions of inner universes. The story behind the series
“What if the invisible worlds inside our minds could take shape — transformed into light, matter, and images that reveal the hidden universes we all carry within?”
How My Series Innerspace Came to Life Each of us carries within our head a world that no one else will ever see. It can be full of colors, memories, silence, or chaos. But what if it were possible to show this invisible world? To transform it into matter, light, and image?
This very question stood at the beginning of my journey with the Innerspace project. I chose the name because it refers to the space hidden within us – a place where dreams, visions, and art are born. The goal of this project was to visualize this inner universe and transform it into images that could tell the stories of female artists and their inner visions.
Since I have long been inspired by the history of fine art, I wanted this time to anchor my visual inspiration in Cubism. From there came the idea of the cube – a basic geometric shape with which I wanted to work both as a space and as a symbol.
Another strong inspiration came from the American speaker Mark Gungor and his popular video Men’s Brains vs. Women’s Brains. In it, he humorously explains the difference between the male and female brain: men supposedly have their nothing box – a “box of nothing” they can enter and truly think of nothing at all, while women, on the other hand, have a box in which they are constantly placing new thoughts, worries, and emotions. Even though this idea is not scientifically proven, the metaphor struck me deeply, and I decided to create my own physical cube – a space into which these inner worlds could be projected and visualized. The project’s concept was born out of my desire to dive into the inner world – into a space that we cannot normally see but that shapes us profoundly.
I wanted to know: what kind of world do artists carry inside their minds? How do they think? What colors do they see? What images or sensations accompany them? Where do they find inspiration, and how do they perceive reality? As a woman, I felt the need to explore female perception – especially that of women artists and mothers, who combine creative work with family life.
For over a year, I reached out to artists from different fields: a fashion designer, a jewelry maker, a ballerina, a photographer, and a sculptor. Each one shared her story with me and described her creative process. These conversations were immensely inspiring. Each woman gave me something new – an idea, a method, a way of seeing the world. Thanks to them, I began experimenting with materials: I learned to work with resin, collected branches and moss in the forest, covered the ceiling with beads to resemble the night sky, and created a sea surface out of shattered glass.
Much of the construction and scenography I did myself – I drilled with a drill for the very first time, glued with industrial “Mamut” adhesive, played with reflections, and carried 300 kilos of concrete blocks up to the first floor of my studio. Most of the time, my children and my husband helped me. Together we built a cube from plexiglass, and he even made a smaller cube to be placed inside the larger one. My father helped by cutting wooden boards. It became a family project, and this collaboration gave me the strength to carry it through. An essential part of my work is also recycling – giving new life to things that would otherwise be discarded. The concrete blocks came from my parents’ garden, where they were simply in the way. I used dry branches from the forest, a door from an old wardrobe thrown out of a kindergarten, and mannequins from an art school that I repainted.
I incorporated photographs from fellow photographers who no longer needed their exhibition prints, reused polystyrene from earlier projects, and even branches from a plant in my parents’ garden, which dries out and gets cut and burned every autumn. All of these “waste” materials became part of my visual universe. With my family’s help, I eventually built a large wooden cube measuring 160 × 160 cm. It occupied nearly half of my small studio and became my “studio within the studio” – a space where, for more than a year, I would lock myself in to create. Accompanied by music – from the delicate Debussy to the fiery Vanessa Mae – I sketched, wrote notes, and gradually transformed the thoughts of these women into concrete scenes.
Every photograph in the Innerspace series was born from a conversation, a sketch, and an experiment with the cube. In the following chapters, I will take you through each image, its story, and the process by which a thought became a tangible visual world. I hope this book will not only document the making of the series but also invite you to reflect on the inner space each of us carries – and how even the most ordinary objects can be transformed into art.
