“The Pop-Art series explores the influence of mass culture and advertising aesthetics on contemporary identity. Drawing on the legacy of pop art, the author reinterprets its vibrant colors, iconic symbols, and stylized forms through the lens of fashion and commercial photography. Each image becomes both a homage to the artistic movement and a reflection on consumerism, visibility, and the fleeting nature of fame.”
The Pop-Art series explores the visual language of mass culture and its impact on contemporary identity. The author draws inspiration from the legacy of pop art and transforms its symbols, colors, and codes through the prism of fashion and commercial photography. Each image is conceived as a staged scene, carefully designed with vibrant props, bold palettes, and strong contrasts to reflect the aesthetics of consumerism and advertising.
By reinterpreting iconic elements of popular culture, the series highlights the tension between glamour and ephemerality, value and visibility. Each photograph becomes a commentary on how media and trends shape our collective imagination while simultaneously embodying the author’s own artistic vision.

The story behind the series
“What if everyday objects, saturated colors, and cultural codes could reveal more than fashion and fame — becoming mirrors of the society we live in?”
Pop-Art was born from a fascination with the extravagance, stylization, and saturated visuality of mass culture. Advertising, fashion, and consumer icons surround us every day, promising luxury, visibility, and fleeting fame. I asked myself: what if these symbols could be reframed – transformed into images that not only celebrate their glamour but also question their meaning in today’s world?
This question became the foundation of my journey with the Pop-Art series, created in 2022 as part of my studies at the Institute of Creative Photography. I wanted to move beyond minimalism, which I had explored in my previous series Abstraction, and dive into a more playful and expressive visual language. Inspired by the legacy of artists such as Andy Warhol, I began collecting references, studying pop art’s use of color and objects, and combining them with the aesthetics of fashion and commercial photography.
The process itself was both challenging and deeply personal. At the time, I was on maternity leave, and my living room became my studio – a space shared with toys, children, and family life. Friends stepped in as models, and every scene was carefully planned through moodboards, sketches, and improvised props. Black was used as a conscious strategy to heighten contrast, depth, and the energy of the surrounding colors.
The result is a body of work that reflects both the glamour and critique of mass culture. Bold colors, iconic objects, and handcrafted sets merge into staged photographs that speak about identity, visibility, and value in a media-saturated society. What began as a personal experiment in a home studio has since grown into one of my most recognized projects – exhibited internationally, awarded multiple times, and with the photograph OMG chosen as the main visual for Prague Photo Festival 2023.
Much of the Pop-Art series was created in the most ordinary yet extraordinary setting — my own living room. At the time I was on maternity leave, and the space I shared with my children and husband became my studio. Toys scattered on the floor became obstacles we stepped over as I set up lights, arranged props, and prepared the models. Friends stepped in as collaborators: they posed for me, helped with styling, and supported the vision behind each staged scene.
Although the images look playful and polished, their construction was often improvised and handmade. I built props myself, experimented with bold colors, and carefully sketched every concept on moodboards before bringing it to life. My research into pop art — from the works of Andy Warhol to the language of contemporary advertising — guided the symbols, objects, and contrasts I used.
It was a family-supported process: my husband looked after the children while I photographed, and my closest friends transformed into the living faces of consumer culture. This intimacy is woven into the project itself — Pop-Art is not only about the spectacle of mass culture, but also about the reality of creating art in the middle of everyday life.
Every photograph in the Pop-Art series grew out of a sketch, a moodboard, and an improvised scene in my living room. Bold colors, consumer symbols, and everyday props were transformed into images that echo both the glamour and the critique of mass culture. In the following chapters, I will share the stories behind each work — how inspiration from pop art, advertising, and fashion was reimagined through personal experimentation and collaboration with friends. I hope this series not only documents a fascination with visual culture, but also shows how creativity can emerge from ordinary spaces and turn familiar objects into icons of our time.
Every artwork from the Pop-Art series is available only as a strictly limited edition print, produced on museum-quality archival paper, signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Bold colors, iconic props, and strong contrasts bring to life a world shaped by consumerism, visibility, and fleeting fame. Created during maternity leave and photographed in a living-room studio, each image was meticulously planned through moodboards, sketches, and handcrafted scenography. From the photograph OMG, chosen as the main visual for Prague Photo Festival 2023, to the vibrant reinterpretations of advertising symbols, the series reflects both the glamour and critique of mass culture. Owning a piece of Pop-Art means holding not just a photograph, but a statement about identity, media, and the power of art to transform everyday objects into timeless icons.
